| - Powder Coat Process - | |
Media Blasting All products must be media blasted in some form for the powder coating to adhere to the metal properly. Some parts are sandblasted, while others are chemically stripped. Some other metals will get plastic media blasting to prevent any metal erosion. |
Clean & Spray After the metal has been blasted, they are thoroughly cleaned and dried before being sprayed. The spray process is a static charge. The parts being covered are grounded while the powder is positively charged. This allows the powder to stick to any metal. |
Baking After close inspection that the entire surface has been covered with the powder, the parts will be heated to about 400 degrees and bake for approximately 30 min. After the parts are allowed to cool, they will be ready to handled. |
